Scoring
There are only a few ways to earn cash. You can kill enemies, complete parameters of your goal, or win the match. In Hostage Rescue, both Counter-Terrorists and Terrorists lose points of killing hostages. You also lose cash for killing friendlies. Otherwise, everything you do in C-S leads to positive gains.

As you can see, it pays a little bit more to complete the mission objective than kill all enemies. To maximize your cash, you'd need to kill all but one enemy and then complete the mission. Good luck keeping your pals from offing the final guy. If you can work together, you can work the system for the max cash.
